Silicon Valley Bank’s Start-Up Outlook Report UK 2013
Silicon Valley Bank – the bank for high-growth technology businesses – annually asks US-based start-ups about their company’s health, hiring plans, industry and market issues, government policies and other factors impacting their growth.
This time it wanted to widen the net and understand the issues affecting its “start-up friends on this side of the pond”.
So, in December 2012 it introduced a similar survey in the UK, resulting in a survey sample of 125 UK-based, C-level executives from innovative technology businesses.
For the purposes of this study, UK start-ups are primarily defined as those in the innovation sector with less than £25 million in annual revenue and fewer than 100 employees.
