UK Business Director – Lifestyle Category eCommerce

This role is effectively a ‘start-up’ position within a hyper-growth global eCommerce organisation which is publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The successful candidate will be responsible for rapidly growing the UK business at scale and pace; focussing on building strategic partnerships with attractive British brands in the ‘Lifestyle’ (home, garden, food, kids) category.

The role will include P&L management and team recruitment, development and leadership. However, we are looking for a ‘player coach’ who can also directly leverage his/her own relationships to build business with UK branded suppliers in the lifestyle category.

Candidates should be comfortable within an extremely entrepreneurial environment in which processes are very light, ambiguity is ever present, and structure is limited. The role would only suit those that are extremely flexible in nature.

Despite the cultural challenges, the role presents an unparalleled opportunity to build a substantial business in the UK in the lifestyle category within a hugely successful organisation.

Suitable candidates will have managed teams (including procurement and merchandising) and P&Ls. They should be able to take a new eCommerce retail proposition and market it quickly and successfully to quality British brands; ensuring these brands are comfortable in providing their product/s at volume for sale via a 3rd party platform to a mass consumer base outside the UK.
