Chief Executive Officer appointment at TalkRemit, the low-cost international money transfer and eWallet service, combined with instant social chat

Founded in 2016 in London by Saeed Dualeh, TalkRemit is a fully-licensed financial institution, regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), enabling UK and EU customers to send money across the globe.

Spectrum was retained by the TalkRemit Board to identify an exceptional candidate to become CEO, and to successfully lead the company through the next stage of its development as a commercial organisation.

Suitable candidates would possess a strong fintech background (with considerable importance attached to the ‘tech’ element of ‘fintech’), with outstanding business, strategic and operational skills which could all be fully applied within an entrepreneurial, growth environment.

Spectrum’s search of the market identified 86 potential candidates, of which 7 met in-person with our client.

The search culminated in the successful appointment of Sergey Ivanov as Chief Executive Officer at TalkRemit, formally commencing on 1st April 2020.

Sergey’s early career was spent in the financial service practice at Accenture, before joining BT Global Services. He has since worked at Sistema, a $25 billion private equity holding, as Head of FinTech, TMT & M&A, then at Temenos as Head of Digital Banking Front Office Product Software Development, and, most recently, at the Insignia Group of Companies as Chief Digital Officer, Cards & Payments. Sergey holds a MSc in Mathematics & Engineering.
