Chief Digital Officer appointment at pan-Africa Neo Bank, Asante Financial Services

Spectrum is pleased to confirm the successful appointment of a Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Nairobi, Kenya headquartered Asante Financial Services.

Asante is a credit-led Neo Bank leading the charge to extend digital financial services to growing businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Asante’s purpose is to advance access to finance, financial independence, and wellbeing to the millions of small businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. It has developed a digital lending platform that utilises consumer-authorised channel partner data and a proprietary AI loan decisioning management system to approve and disburse loans in less than 60secs. Asante’s channel partners include Diageo, Heineken, Safaricom, Nestle, JUMIA, Mastercard, Samsung, and Bharti Airtel.

Working closely with Asante’s Founder & CEO, and HR Director, the objective was to consider candidates currently located outside Africa with leading edge CDO experience from a digital banking environment.

The appointee is a hugely experienced FinTech CDO. Based in London at the time of the search, he will now spend two-thirds of his time located in Nairobi with the core team, and the remaining one-third in London.

In addition to supporting both the candidate and the client in the global relocation process, Spectrum managed the interview logistics, offer and contractual negotiations, and formal referencing. Asante’s HR Director then prepared a comprehensive arrival and onboarding programme for the CDO in advance of his arrival in Nairobi.
