Head of Technology for early-stage investor Breed Reply
Breed Reply is a fast-growing active operational investor dedicated to early-stage companies in the Internet of Things (IoT) sector, and is part of the Reply Group: a leading consulting, systems integration and digital services organisation with a market presence across Europe and the USA.
Based in the UK and with offices in Munich and Milan, Breed Reply supports start-ups in Europe and the USA, and has to date invested in seventeen start-ups across eight IoT subsectors.
Breed Reply’s incubation model delivers hands-on support in developing and growing businesses across functions: from general management, to sales and marketing, and technology. It also provides access to advisors, mentors and other investors.
Spectrum was retained by the Venture Partner Director, Tim Stone to conduct a search for a Head of Technology.
The appointee would be Breed Reply’s technology expert: proactively delivering technology and product development expertise for the benefit of its investee companies, helping them to succeed through providing systems, technology and process support and advice; as well as provide technical due diligence in advance of any potential investment.
Suitable candidates would possess significant experience in developing technology across a broad set of disciplines, to have included both hardware and software; the ability to understand and apply commercial and market perspectives to technology development, and an entrepreneurial mind set.
Spectrum’s rapid search resulted in four 1st round interviews, and two 2nd round interviews, leading to the successful appointment of Andrew Young. Andrew joined Breed Reply from Mad Catz Interactive, Inc., where he was CTO, and, previously, VP Product Development. Mad Catz (NYSE MKT: MCZ) was a global provider of innovative interactive entertainment products marketed under its Mad Catz® (gaming), Tritton® (audio), and Saitek® (simulation) brands.
