Chairman Leadership Dinner, May 2019

Spectrum hosted a Chairman Leadership Dinner on 14 May for Chairs within the technology sector.

We brought together 18 Chairs for a ‘Chatham House rule’ discussion on their experiences leading a board during a private dinner in Central London.

Discussion was inspired by the findings of Spectrum’s research report The role of the Board Chair within privately held growth businesses which explores the views and experiences of Non-Executive Chairs, investors and CEOs.

Its purpose is to facilitate a greater understanding of the role and contribution of the Board Chair amongst key stakeholders, and to optimise the contribution of the Chair to the private, growth company.

Spectrum host a variety of themed events, often in partnership with other professional services firms, to provide a closed forum which facilitates peer-level discussion, networking and thought leadership.  Previous events have focused on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Blockchain, MediaTech, FinTech, HealthTech, eCommerce and B2B Software.

Our next Chairman Leadership Dinner is scheduled for the Autumn. To register your interest in attending, please contact Sarah Rush at Spectrum.

Our guests supplied some wonderful feedback after attending this event:

Just wanted to express my thanks for an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable evening. It was great to hear all the different perspectives and experiences from the other guests and some of the tremendous companies they are now working with.

Thank you for a very enjoyable dinner last night. What an interesting group of Chairman you brought together, from a wide variety of backgrounds and geographies. It is always good to share experiences and the discussion about the role of the Chairman was excellent.

I just wanted to say thanks again for the invitation to the Board Chair dinner last evening. It was good to see you again, and very interesting (and quite reassuring) to share experiences with others, particularly around the Chair’s relationship with entrepreneurs/founders.
